A Bereavement Doula assists with pregnancy-related grief and bereavement. As a full-spectrum collective, we strive to support individuals in our community regardless of reproductive choice or outcome. We also recognize that bereavement may have it's own timeline, or arrive and linger unexpectedly and indefinitely. Bereavement may include working through challenging feelings after a miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, unplanned outcome, adoption process, and other complex factors. It may be connected or compounded by inter-generational, familial, social, cultural, or medical treatment related issues.

 

There are many resources available specifically for holding space for pregnancy-related grief, mourning, and bereavement. Our bereavement doula, Jae Carey, is trained as a full-spectrum doula, with extensive experience in hospice work and integrative bereavement.
